The Sunday after the Caldereros celebration (the first Sunday in February or the one following Candlemas) sees the Inudeak eta Artzainak parade, a wink to the courting that went on between nursemaids and shepherds when the latter came down into the city. This is yet another event in the local run-up to Carnival.
Long live love! We are fully aware that Donostia / San Sebastián is a city that you can fall in love with all year round. Even the least romantic people fall at its feet. However, we think that coming to visit us this year on the 14 of February, the day when love reigns supreme, can be even more captivating.
Let yourself be surprised by this exhibition that brings together promotional posters of our city from the end of the 19th century to the 1960s. Some 80 years that have been shaping the image of San Sebastian abroad.exhibition will be open at the San Telmo Museum from 1 July to 15 October.
The beginning of September - from August 28 to September 8 - will see the celebration of the Euskal Jaiak or Fiestas Vascas (“Basque Festivals”) in Donostia. These local festivities bring together the best of culture, sports, culinary arts, folklore and Basque traditions.

Belle Époque Day is being held at San Sebastian Racecourse from 17:00 pm on Sunday, 7th July. So, grab your straw hat, sunshade, pearl necklace and long dress from your wardrobe and come along to this very special race, which has been held for 108 years!
