Natural enclaves within the city
The mountains of Donostia/San Sebastián safeguard, protect and embrace the city. Green lungs that in the past had very diverse functions, such as the military fort and the lookout point for spotting whales, and that today offer impressive panoramic views of the city and La Concha Bay.
Mount Igeldo
Take the funicular up the mountain, topped by Igeldo Tower with a small theme park.
Mount Urgull
Mount Urgull, an old military site, has trails, forts and lookouts points with scenes worthy of a postcard.
Mount Ulia
One of the city’s least known mountains, that conceals marvellous landscapes and a history closely linked to whale sighting.
