Ensemble Les Surprises + Veronique Gens

Conceived as an imaginary opera for soloist, orchestra, and choir, this concert will pay tribute to the queens of 18th-century French opera, with a repertoire that, while rooted in tradition, embraces new musical textures and heralds the aesthetic—and even political—changes of the turn of the century.
