Driven by his passion for modal music, the musician Ibantuta has traveled through 12 countries along the ancient Silk Road, collaborating with nearly 40 musicians and playing traditional string instruments. The oud serves as the traveler’s Ariadne’s thread, allowing him to find his own path through the labyrinth of soundscapes and visual landscapes of China, Central Asia, and the Middle East.
From this journey emerged Zetaren bideak musika hariak (String Music of the Silk Road), an album that pays tribute to millennia-old musical traditions.
