The students in the Donostia Kultura Theater A course, led by Aitor Nabarro, will showcase what they have learned during the course with the play Los desertores. The group describes the production as follows: “It is a tragicomedy set during the Civil War. Two families—one Republican and the other Francoist. Two different ways of viewing the war and the conflict, yet in both cases, with the same drama and uncertainty. This story takes place in a small town where everyone has known each other their whole lives. Old friends are now enemies but remain secret friends. It has a certain Shakespearean tone, with hints of Romeo and Juliet. And it carries the atmosphere of ‘Los santos inocentes’ or ‘Belle Epoque.’ A tragicomedy to make you laugh and reflect.”
