“Sanseestabien” durante la guerra civil
If you want more information , you can access the organizer detail sheet.
This lecture series will explore various topics in history and art, using an object from the collection as a starting point. Pedro Barruso will present the lecture “Sanseestabien: From Republican Summer Resorts to Francoist Summer Resorts (1936–1939).”
The lecture will examine, based on the magazine “Vértice” on display at the Museum, the situation in San Sebastián, which, after a brief—though bloody—three-month interlude between July and September 1936, regained its character as a seaside resort with virtually no break in continuity between summer vacations during the Republican years and those instituted from that moment on by the regime that would emerge triumphant from the civil war.
The piece from which this lecture will draw: Vértice. National Magazine of the Falange, San Sebastián, 1937
