Federico Chueca’s zarzuela *La Gran Vía* takes us on a humorous journey to the “birth” of Madrid’s Gran Vía. Various characters appear, representing different personalities such as La Menegilda and Mrs. Virtudes, the Stroller of the Cortes, Doña Sinceridad, Elíseo Madrileño, and even the Knight of Grace takes the stage. They all celebrate the birth of the Gran Vía by singing and dancing.
