Miguel Berzosa, from San Sebastian, began publishing professionally in the 1970s with the Erein publishing house, creating the character Mintxo, which was hugely popular.
After trying his hand at various genres, it was with his biography of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, published to mark the 500th anniversary of his birth, that the doors to European religious comics opened for him, leading to publications in Spain, France, Italy, Germany, South America, and the US.
