Bon vent is what they say in France to wish someone good luck when they leave. But also when we want to lose sight of them. We are familiar with the expression, which is very similar to “go take a hike.” We are also familiar with the wind itself, the volatile, what happens in the air, the circus’ eternal struggle against gravity. A circus as vaporous as a piece of cloth on a breezy afternoon. Buen Viento is a journey in three movements: leaving, getting lost, returning transformed.
Inspired by stories of migration, memory, and change, the show follows eight artists who try to answer the same question: what do we leave behind when we move forward?
Through the trapeze, the rope, juggling, balance, and clowning, they construct a collective narrative where each body is a story, an inner landscape. The wind, ever-present, acts as an invisible force: sometimes an ally, sometimes an obstacle. With a ritualistic aesthetic, full of breath and poetry, Buen Viento / Bon Vent explores the beauty of farewells and the possibility of rebirth after each departure. Buen Viento is the fourth joint creation between Truca Circus (Seville) and La Grainerie (Toulouse) since the Circo de Sur a Sur project began in 2022.
