Beatriz isn’t sure if she’s ready for the meeting she’ll have in ten minutes. Her husband Martín is with her. But the pain is overwhelming. It’s been years since she last saw the parents of her son’s killer, Ricardo and Amelia, face to face. But Beatriz needs to understand—or at least try one last time—how such a horrific act could have happened. So she can move on. To regain her will to live. And she is willing to see it through to the end, whatever the cost.
Six years later, both couples have agreed to meet. And what begins as an attempt to understand the past turns into a painful but necessary process. They talk about their children’s childhoods, bullying, loneliness, regret, and grief. Ricardo and Amelia carry the guilt of not having seen the signs. Martín and Beatriz, the anger of having lost everything. But in the midst of the abyss, the possibility of forgiveness emerges. A small, silent gesture transforms everything: they hold hands. And for a moment, there is light. There is life. There is a future.
