The Ertza theater company will premiere *Kandela & Erre*: “What good is an unlit candle? At best, it serves as decoration. If it’s meant to provide light, it has to be lit; and if it’s lit, it will burn little by little until it’s completely consumed.
Our characters are a father and daughter who live under the same roof, yet know very little about each other. It seems that in recent days this dynamic is about to change—or at least they’re trying to make it so—but to do so, they’ll have to confront issues such as the generation gap, sexuality, gender identity, and patriotism.
Although both seek to live as well as possible, each one’s approach clashes head-on with the other’s. That said, what both have been forced to learn is that we will all eventually burn out. So why such a fear of failure, if life itself is a lost battle? Wouldn’t it be even worse to go through this life without even shedding a little light?”
