Following the fascist coup of 1936, thousands of Basque children were forced into exile. Their stories are not merely a thing of the past: they resonate today with the questions, fears, and hopes of today’s youth.
Ezer ez delako amaitzen is a multidisciplinary performance created as part of the Loraldia Eskola program and developed in collaboration with middle and high school students from five schools across the Basque Country. Through theater, music, and movement, it constructs a contemporary piece in a collage format, where the testimonies of those exiled children intersect with the perspectives of today’s youth.
The production links historical memory with the present to warn of the resurgence of fascism, racism, and violence. It is a collective creation in Basque, designed for both young and adult audiences, that combines emotion and reflection in a contemporary theatrical language.
