A day at the races
The warmest months of the year see the betting world gather at the San Sebastián Racecourse.
Horse races, and particularly the Copa de Oro (Gold Cup), one of the races in the prestigious Le Défi du Galop competition, attracts hundreds of spectators who come to have a good time and place bets on these exciting summer afternoons. The summer season began on June 11; horse-racing enthusiasts can’t miss this meeting!
The price of tickets for adults is €10, for young people and retirees the ticket costs €8, and for the rest, it’s free. The most important day is August 15th, with the Gold Cup, when the ticket price is slightly higher (15 and 11 euros respectively). As for the schedules, the races begin at around 11:15/11:30 a.m. on morning race days and between 5:05 and 5:30 p.m. on afternoon race days.
In addition to the races themselves, there will continue to be activities for children, such as pony rides, enjoying the renovated playground, and a leisure club where activities are run by three monitors. These activities are free of charge.
