dFERIA, the city’s festival of performing arts, is a four-day event that turns San Sebastián into a celebration for professionals and fans alike.
The dFERIA theatre and dance fair, a can’t-miss event for the performing arts sector, has a well-earned reputation as one of the industry’s major events, and the city has managed to distinguish itself by offering a first-rate programme that includes outstanding productions.

The main purpose of dFERIA is to promote the performing arts market, presenting the latest theatre productions with a special focus on Basque theatre companies and providing an opportunity for industry players to network. It is also a large-scale performing arts festival, at the same level as San Sebastián’s famous summer film and music festivals, the unquestionable hub of performance arts during the four days dFERIA takes over the city.
This year, we will be able to enjoy 31 shows (in 42 performances) in an edition whose leitmotif is Legacy.

The 2026 edition will have Denmark as the guest country, and companies from Italy, Argentina, and Taiwan will also take part. In addition, 48% of the programme will be dedicated to dance, 46% to theatre, with one circus show and another featuring various disciplines.
