La Bretxa
The name of the market is rooted in the history of Donostia and is due to the invasions suffered by the city. In the early eighteenth century, the city was assaulted by the troops of the Duke of Berwik, in this action the troops open two gaps in the wall. One hundred years later on 31 August 1813, Anglo-Portuguese soldiers took the city through it.
