Places You Can’t Miss on Your Visit
Just one weekend is enough to fall in love with Donostia. Our city has so much to offer, but there are places you simply cannot miss when visiting the Pearl of the Cantabrian Sea:
La Concha beach
By far the best beach. More than a kilometre and a half long, with numerous international awards for its elegance and setting.
Old Quarter
The Centre and the Old Quarter are two of the most vibrant and authentic areas. Narrow streets, pintxo bars, restaurants and the oldest market in the city.
The Wind Comb
The renowned sculptor Eduardo Chillida created three steel sculptures at the point where the city meets the sea.
Cristina Enea Park
The largest and most densely wooded urban park in the city. Refurbished in 2007, it’s home to the former palace of the Duke of Mandas.
Real Sociedad’s stadium
In addition to top level football matches, this multidisciplinary stadium also hosts all kinds of international events.
Mount Igeldo-Funicular
Take the funicular up the mountain topped by Igeldo Tower. An impressive panoramic lookout with the best views of La Concha beach.

River Urumea and its bridges
In addition to the sea lapping at the city, San Sebastián has a beautiful river running through the whole city, the Urumea.
Aiete palace and park
One of the city’s most important green lungs. The upper area has a charming Neoclassical-inspired palace.
Ondarreta beach
A family oriented beach that even a kids’ playground right on the sand. You can also hire canoes and play football or beach tennis.

This area, to the south of the Old Quarter, is full of magnificent buildings from the late 19th century. It’s also known for its shopping and leisure.

The Paseo Nuevo borders Mount Urgull from the Port to the famous Kursaal. It’s one of the city’s most scenic and peaceful promenades.
Santa Clara Island, Hondalea
