Parks and gardens
Aiete Park
Noble and majestic. That’s the Aiete Park
Standing on the hills surrounding the city, the park is remarkable for its impressive gardens and, of course, for its mansion.
Aiete – Miramón, two elevated neighborhoods perfect for a peaceful walk
The neighborhoods of Aiete and Miramón are located on the hills surrounding La Concha Bay. These two areas, away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, will not leave you indifferent. You can visit iconic city buildings like the Aiete Palace or the Basque Culinary Center, play with scientific experiments at the Science Museum, and relax in the city’s two largest gardens and parks.
The walls of the building witnessed the comings and goings of aristocrats including Queen Isabel II, Queen Victoria of England, Queen María Cristina and Alphonse XIII, all of whom chose the mansion as their place of summer residence. It has recently re-opened as a culture centre packed with creative activity.
The gardens, designed by Pierre Ducasse, conceal fabulously romantic ponds certain to prompt visitors to disconnect from the reality of everyday life.

¿Have you ever hugged a tree?
We couldn’t resist doing it. For those who have never done it, it is said that when you hug a tree trunk, you can absorb all the positive energy it holds; you’ll have to try it to find out.
