Xabier Urdangarin, mayor of Astigarraga, will begin the press conference at 12:00 in Erribera Kulturgunea (Astigarraga) together with representatives of the Basque Government, the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and the Euskal Sagardoa Designation of Origin, where the characteristics of the 2025 harvest, the new cider and the latest developments in the sector will be presented.

The most special moment of this thirty-second edition of the event will be the opening of the first kupela: at the Petritegi cider house, the guest of this edition will pronounce “Gure Sagardo Berria”, and will begin the cider house season of 2026.

Beforehand, he will plant an apple tree in the Erribera Kulturgunea square. This symbolic act is intended to represent the dynamism and renewal of nature.

Program:
11:30-12:00: Registration at Erribera Kulturgunea.
12:00: Press conference at Erribera Kulturgunea, where the characteristics of the 2025 harvest, the new cider, and the most important events in the cider sector will be presented.
12:45: Symbolic planting of an apple tree by the guest in the Erribera Kulturgunea plaza.
13:30: To the sound of the txalaparta players, the sagar dantza (cider dance) will be performed, and afterwards, the sagardogiles (cider makers) and representatives of cultural groups will accompany the guest to participate in the soka dantza (rope dance) to taste the new cider.
13:45: At the Petritegi cider house, the guest will taste the new cider to the cry of “Gure Sagardo Berria” and the start of the new txotx season 2026 will be officially announced.
